Home Alone

Kelsey, my roommate, has been gone all week visiting her family in Seattle. Which means I have been living all by myself this week. I hate it. I always knew that I didn't like life by myself, but I tend to forget and think how living without a roommate might be kind of nice. Its not nice, it is rather boring. I miss coming home and watching TLC with her and having our Saturday morning lounge sessions. Kelsey come home, I miss you! :)

This week is also a reminder that she is going to be moving soon to Greece, and that I will have to figure out where to live and who to live with all over again. I love my roommate and I love our apartment...its a girls apartment... all cute and matching, each room with its own color scheme. This seems to always be the case, that just when I get comfortable God decides its time to mix things up again. I have lived in this apartment and with Kelsey the longest of any place since I left home for college. I have to admit, I have really enjoyed the stability of not having to find a new place to live every 9 months or so, or finding someone else to live with.

I am really good at living in denial and I have been able to push aside the fact that my comfy little life is coming to end and that a new adventure is about to begin. Honestly, I'm a little scared. :)

Melting in California

I have a beautiful 2006 Volkswagon Passat. I love my car. She (yes, my car is a girl) is my first and only car. I got her after I graduated from APU, three years ago this October. She is a first generation since Volkswagon decided to redesign the Passat that year, but because she is a first generation, she has had a lot of problems. There have been past issues of the emergency brake getting stuck and having to get my car towed...that was loads of fun. The key getting stuck in the ignition, multiple warning lights going off and yet there is nothing wrong. Recently she has decided that she doesn't like AC which is perfect since the service department is closed on Sundays and it is over 90 today! She decided to stop working yesterday when I was taking my roommate to the airport so we dripped in sweat all the way there and I, all the way back. Which, when it is over 90, having the windows rolled down doesn't really work too well. I was supposed to drive to Vegas this weekend to meet my best friend, its a good thing it didn't work out or I would be sitting in a hot smelly car for 4 hours! Ughh...sometimes I hate my car!

Happy Birthday Kelsey!

Look who is one year closer to 30! 29 years ago, at 12:01pm, Kelsey came roaring into the world, though I was yet to be born I remember it well. Happy Birthday Roommate of my life!

Mr and Mrs Bonenberger

Congratulations Lisa and Kyle! Their wedding was the last of the three and she was the most beautiful bride. :) I promise this is my last wedding post for a LONG time...now onto other life events! They were all a lot of fun, but if I don't go to another wedding for the rest of the summer I will be ok with that.

Mr and Mrs Lekas

Congratulations Katie and Jason!

Katie and Jason got married last weekend at a beautiful vineyard in Solvang, CA. It was one of the most gorgeous weddings that I have ever been to and the 2nd of the set of 3 wedding that I am attending this summer (all of which happen to be in a row)! Congratulations you two, I know you will be so happy together!

Riding the Rails

Currently I am sitting on a train riding up to Santa Barbra for yet another wedding. There is this great elderly couple sitting behind me who are talking at full voice about mass murder, graffiti, the infamous Heidi Fleiss oh and did I mention lesbians (actually they called them lezzie's)? The best part is that I am sitting in business class so the train is completely quiet except for the couple talking behind me. I am supposed to by studying for my Psych Testing final, but I am way too entertained by them to even begin to study. Oh what fun the train brings!

Mr and Mrs Jones

June 21, 2008 was one of the hottest days that we have had in Southern California this summer, 105 degrees in the shade! And that is the day that my wonderful friend Lauren got married in Romona, CA at a beautiful golf course. We sweated the day away, but they are finally married and I am so happy for them. Congratulations you two!
